Classes

Steven Macramalla, Ph.D. is bringing Chien-Lung, a Chinese Martial Art to Body & Soul Tuesday evenings 7:15 to 8:45 pm. It is based on six animals (tiger, black panther, white leopard, python, cobra, and boa), each embodying a different way of moving and meditating, different system of the body and part of the brain, and different style of self defense. With powerful punches and aerial kicks, this vigourous workout "unleashes the animal within" and centers you with the meditation. Steven Macramalla's Ph.D. is in cognitive psychology. He has been practicing Chien-Lung for 20 years. Call 234-8451 for more info.

Yoga for Writers -- James Moran is teaching Yoga for Writers--beginning to intermediate healing of the writer's body, Sundays 10:00 to 11:30 am. The class is for writers and anyone who sits in front of a computer a lot or has tight shoulders and neck. James is also subbing for Jim Gallas through March. Feldenkrais on Tuesday night with Suzi Lundgren--the topic is the Pelvis in Motion: Balance in Action.

Tai Ji -- April Burns has added a new Tai Ji class for beginners. It is on Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. She also teaches Monday mornings at 8:30 am. For further information call Arpil at 429-8601.

Royal Radiance Kundalini Yoga -- Daljit Sachdev invites you to come and deepen your awareness with the ancient techniques of Kundalini Yoga, in a class he calls Royal Radiance Kundalini Yoga on Wednesday afternoons. Including breath, rhythm, sound, and meditation, Kundalini Yoga uses many yoga elements to expand any practice. You can reach Daljit at 588-3474.

• A group practicing an Indonesian martial art called White Crane Silat has chosen Body & Soul for its practice home. They invite others to observe and check it out on Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoons. Call Bob Sheehan at 457-0118.

Fees

The drop-in single class fee for most classes is now $14. For multiple class deals and minor/senior discounts, see Class Fees.

How to join
Just show up at the class you want to attend, unless pre-registration is required. All fees are paid directly to the teacher.
When coming to class...
You may wear shorts and a shirt, or a leotard (or t-shirt) and tights that do not cover your feet. We avise you dress in layers to remain comfortable as you warm up and cool down. Please don't eat for 1 1/2 hours before class. If you have any physical problems or injuries, be sure to inform the teacher before the class begins.
Available to Rent
